First of all, what you as an applicant should know is that you will be working in an Executive/VIP setting. Although your direct contact, as a system engineer, with the end users will be minimal, you should know that the people you are working for are used to getting a high level service. Key responsibilities:
- Take the leading role in designing, build, monitoring and maintenance of the virtualised, hybrid cloud and cloud server, network, storage and application systems at the global datacentres of the Firm (VMware ESX, vCenter, NSX, VDI, Orchestrator, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure,...)
- Operate and maintain physical datacentre infrastructure
- Keep up to date with the latest industry trends and developments regarding virtualisation, cloud and containerisation
- Serve as a technical lead on projects
- Mentor and educate other members of the infrastructure team on virtualisation products and technologies
- Create documentation and develop plans for continuous improvement of virtualised datacentres setup

Targets & Measures:
- Stable, flexible and modern virtualised environment deployed uniformly across datacentres
- Timely and successful execution of projects that you lead or participate in
- Production of high quality and up-to-date documentation
- Clear guidance and advice to other technical teams when coordinating project

Generic - IT Infrastructure - Major tasks:
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and escalate them to the appropriate internal or external service providers
- As required, work with the network, security and other teams on infrastructure projects, including implementation of new hardware and software systems
- Continuously contribute to the knowledge base of the IT team by documenting and disseminating information on issues raised and new resolutions or interim workarounds found


- Fluent in English, and any other European language is an asset
- Professional ethic and manner – must demonstrate the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of the Firm’s internal and personnel affairs

Knowledge and Experience
- Expert proficiency: VMware suite of products, including but not limited to, vSphere, vCenter, NSX, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
- Strong proficiency: Microsoft operating systems, server hardware, storage area network and network attached storage systems
- Excellent understanding of Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS and other cloud and hybrid cloud technologies
- Experience of monitoring and meeting service level agreements
- Working knowledge of Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop
- Understanding of Microsoft Hyper-V, OpenStack, KVM, Docker
- Certified in VMware – VCP5-DCV certificate or higher (VCAP5-DCA, VCAP5-DCD)
- Bachelor degree, and minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a system/network role, working with similar hardware and software, preferably in a professional services environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
